One time when I did the right thing was when I told my parents that I had gotten a horrible grade on my Social Studies test. Before I mentioned it to them it was just sitting in my head and I didn’t think about anything other than that horrible grade.
I had walked over to my Mom’s desk and said,
“I got my Social Studies test back today.”
“How did you do?” she asked. I told her that there were three sections; on the first section I did well, on the second section I didn’t do well at all, and on the third section I did fantastic.
She was OK with the first part, not happy with the second part, and she was proud of me for the last part. She told me that next time I take a test I need to either study more or I need to take better notes. I told her that I would do better on the next test I took in Social Studies.
My Dad was not at home the night I had told my Mom I had gotten a horrible grade on my Social Studies test. The night after I had told my Mom, my Dad was home and I was ready to tell him. He was lounging on the couch while I walked over to him.
“I got my Social Studies test back today.” I said quickly.
“Did you do good or bad?” he questioned.
“I did good then bad then great. There was three parts of the test.” I replied.
He wasn’t that mad at me because he knows how hard it is for me to take notes in anything especially Social Studies. He told me that the next time I have a test I should take better notes and study for even if it is an open note quiz. I told him that I would d the best that I could and try even harder in any class from now until the end of the year.
A week after I had told both my Dad and my Mom that I would do better on my Social Studies tests, we had one. I felt pretty good on this test and I slowly waited day after day for my test to return to me. I had finally gotten my test back with good results. I did great one of my best test ever. I was as happy as a kid in a candy store.
As soon as I arrived back home I in formed my Mom and Dad with the good news about my test. They were so proud of me. Both them and I hoped I good keep up the good work for the rest of the year or for the rest of school. I realized at that moment after I had taken my 2nd test I can do better in school than I thought.
Ever since I had taken that test I had done great in school. Language arts and Social Studies I still needed to work on but for the most part I haven’t had one horrible grade in along time and I hope I will never have a horrible grade ever again. I think if I keep up the good and hard work I wont have a bad test in a long time.
